Law School of Anhui University
 

        When established in 1928, Anhui University had set up the Law school and its relative departments. The department of law was merged into the East China University of Politics and Law in the modulation in 1952. Early in the spring 1979, approved by the Ministry of Education, Anhui University resumed its department of law, and admitted student then. Since 1982, the University began to admit Master students in legal history, economic law, civil law, administration law and international law. The Law School was established upon the former department of law in October 1996. The first dean after resumption was famous jurist, professor Chen Shengqing, the present dean is Professor Wang Yuankuo, LL.D. The Law School accommodates eight research sessions in Jurisprudence, legal history, constitution and administration law, criminal law, civil and commercial law, economic law, litigation law and international law, and an Institute of Law Research. The present faculty is more than 60, with 15 professors and 15 associate professors. 90% of them are middle-aged and youth, and more than 80% of them with a master's degree. There were 6 of 9 among them had achieved their doctor's degree part-timely, and 2 were doing the post-doctor research. At the same time, a lot of retired eminent professors were still making contributions to the Law School, such as professor Chen Shengqing, professor Zhu Xueshan and professor Wang Rong, etc.

        The Law School has four programs for the Master of Law (legal history, litigation law, economics law and civil and commercial law) and one program for Master of legal science. There are 500 enrolled full time undergraduate students, 150 graduate students, 200 part-time graduate students, 600 graduate-education attendants, and more than 1,000 adult-education undergraduate and college students.

        The Law School has undertaken a lot of national social strategy research programs, and published many effective monographs and research papers. The "Roman Law Principle" (Monograph as professor Zhou Dan) and "Foreign Legal History" (national unitive textbook, with chief editor as professor Chen Shengqing,) had won many national and provincial awards. Presently the Law School faculties undertake two projects of the national social strategy, and several provincial and ministry projects.
